Priory Homecare
& Personalisation

At Priory Homecare, director Carol Smith and her manager Carol Billington together with the team of care managers and administration have been busy working their way through the personalisation agenda - the Department of Health and Central Government's directive for the future of social care.

We are pleased to let you know that all our carers receive ongoing training to meet the changing needs of social care within today's society. Our care managers and administrators are confident that measures are in place to deliver a new type of social care.

What personalisation means to you...

If you have contacted Social Services for assistance in allowing you to live your life as independently as possible, doing the things that matter to you, and have been given a budget allowance under the Self-Directed Support scheme, Priory Homecare is in an excellent position to help and advise you on how to use this allowance to your best advantage.

Please don't be shy in asking for help. Social Services and the Department of Health have identified that a key factor in maintaining your independence and well-being is taking action as soon as your physical/mental condition prevents you from managing on your own as well as you would like.

How we can help you

Some of the things that we can help you with are:

  • Working with you in the kitchen to ensure that your nutritional needs are met
  • Providing assistance in persuing your hobbies and leisure activities (e.g. trips to the cinema, dining out etc)
  • Keeping you in touch with your local community
  • Escorting you to the shops and appointments at doctors, dentists etc.
  • Providing support to re-build confidence with your social interactions
  • Help with domestic tasks around the house (cleaning, laundry etc)
  • Assistance with personal hygiene,continence, bathing/showering
  • Administration of medications

Testimonial

I would like to offer a huge thankyou to yourself and all the carers who have assisted me, in my rehabilitation following surgery.

The carers, in particular the main carer, have been very professional in the way they have tended to my needs, treating me with kindness, respect and dignity which are important qualities, when dealing with personal care of someone newly out of hospital. I feel I am being treated as a person and not a number.

I would, without hesitation recommend your services to anyone needing homecare, and I hope you and your staff continue this much needed service for many years to come. Thank you.
