25.02.2010 National Dignity in Care Day
|
Accolades for Caring Staff Our most recent NVQ achievers took part in an open day and accolade event at The Barn in Scorton to mark National Dignity in Care Day. Carol Smith opened the event with a big thankyou to the carers who had acheived success in their NVQ's, explaining that their success contributes to the success, reputation and continued business of the company. A total of 20 recently qualified staff socialed with fellow carers whilst enjoying a buffet meal. Karen Bleasedale, Care Ambassador, discussed with potential care users and carers, what oppurtunities Priory Homecare has for them. Karen's stand looked fantastic, and amongst the other information on display were several Dignity in Care stories written by our staff about a typical day at work, whereby they had achieved making someone feel worthwhile and important. |

Role of the Care Worker.
Priory Homecare's the name and carings our game,
From Great Eccleston to Bleasdale, and back again.
We'll wash and we'll bathe, and assist you to dress,
We'll do it all carefully to cause you no stress.
We'll not let you walk around in the bare,
We have to adhere to our Dignity In Care.
Our hands are clean, clean, clean, all the time,
No infectious diseases cross our line.
We're Investors IN People, did you know ?
Only the best carers here, this does show.
So if you need some help, because lifes not fair,
Pick up the phone and ring Priory Homecare

14.02.2010 My Priory Homecare Story
| Diane Cross Priory Homecare Social Care Worker Our aim is to help people live in their own homes, my role is to provide care by treating each client as an individual with dignity and respect, ensuring choice and promoting independence. As carers we are on the front line helping vulnerable people have a voice. I enjoy meeting new people and the challenge of being needed and helpful to others. I try to make a difference to peoples everyday lives because at some point in our lives we will need the help of others. Carers work as a team along with managers, office staff and client's families, so good day to day feedback and record keeping is essential. One of my personal achievements was encouraging and helping a client's daughter to bring her mother home for her final days, as we knew that all she wanted was to be in her own home, in bed looking out over the countryside surrounded by family and her 3 dogs. I was grateful that we were able to be there, to care for her and support her family in her final days. I was proud that as a team we were able to make her final days as comfortable as possible. |
